Use the Import Project Data Wizard to import a Gantt Chart to Visio

You can quickly import your project information into Visio 2003 by using the Import Project Data Wizard.

To import a file from Microsoft Project 2003

1. In Visio, on the File menu, point to New, point to Project Schedule, and then click Gantt Chart.
2. On the Gantt Chart menu, click Import.
3. On the first wizard page, select Information that's already stored in a file. On the next page select Microsoft Office Project File.
4. On the third wizard page, browse for the mpp file and on the next page select the time scale and duration format.
5. Then select the task types to include in the Visio Gantt Chart.
6. Click Finish to create a Visio Gantt Chart with the properties you specified in the wizard.

   Note  If you have shapes on the current drawing page, Visio places the timeline on a new page in your current drawing.
