Enterprise Project Management Installation &
Configuration |
|
Microsoft Office Project Server, or what
is more commonly called Microsoft's Enterprise
Project Management (EPM) system, isn't the type
of system that can be installed, turned on,
and then automatically used by project teams.
Our Enterprise Project Management (EPM) implementation
consulting philosophy is based on the belief
that a thorough understanding of your business
issues will lead to the most appropriate EPM
solution and approach. That reaching your EPM
goals is primarily
a function of a carefully phased
deployment (spending the time to a prototype and
pilot your system extremely well) and the people you have
enlisted to work with you, to support you, and
guide you.
We take great care
to analyze your
objectives, systems, constraints, and resources.
Our implementation recommendations will be
tailored toward your unique situation.
|
And, more
importantly, than any other service we
provide, our Enterprise Project
Management Specialists will be extremely
honest about what they think the system can do
for you and what you can realistically expect
from your teams given the organization's culture
and experience. |
|
If you are new to this system,
EPM 2003 and EPM 2007 are viewed a multi-tier systems: 1) a SQL database
tier
on the bottom of both of these graphics, 2) the
application tier with Microsoft Office
Project Server,
and now in 2007 fully integrated with WSS, being the primary
server application providing the business logic, and 3) the client tier including Microsoft Office Project Professional,
Project Web Access, and
possibility other lines of business software.

Solutions and Microsoft Project Server Consulting |
-
Assessment:
This involves a health and maturity check of the
organization's needs and capabilities in all areas of
Project Management. Assessment involves custom-designed PSSI capability evaluation templates and
management interviews. The purpose of assessment is
to determine the goals of prototype, pilot, and each
phase of EPM deployment.
-
Enterprise Project Management (EPM)
Proof-of-Concept: We take an
assessment of your major requirements and perform
a basic Microsoft Project Server installation
and configuration so that you can evaluate
the system and plan for a possible prototype.
-
Enterprise Project
Management (EPM) Prototype: We can
install EPM for you, train your prototype team, make
a first pass at configuration, and review prototype,
pilot and employment strategies pretty much during a
single engagement.
-
Enterprise Project Management (EPM) Pilot: A
pilot includes all activities involved with setting
up Microsoft Office Project Server 2003 or 2007 on a company
server. Customization includes custom templates,
security settings, Microsoft SharePoint Services settings,
and Microsoft Project Professional settings as per company
requirements. The EPM pilot is designed to run a
select portfolio of projects to understand the quality
and quantity of information gathered from the system
and to evaluate the effectiveness of an EPM
application.
|
-
Enterprise Project Management (EPM) Phased
Deployment:
EPM rollout is the next step after the successful
implementation of EPM pilot. It involves training,
server modifications, standardization of procedures,
cross complexities of resources and management and a
strict code of enterprise functioning within the
project management domain.
-
Enterprise Project Management (EPM) Audit: Our
MS Project Server System Audit is a technical and
functional review of your implementation. Our
technical audit ensures all Microsoft Office Project Server
functionality is operational. During our functional
audit we review your Project Server configuration
and provide recommendations to improve and mature
your system. We also guide you in the proper use of
the Project Server Enterprise software.
-
Business Process Consulting: This involves
using industry best practices to generate a host of
business processes aimed at resource management,
project management, cost analysis, and portfolio
analysis.
-
Systems Integration: Our Technical Team has
many years of experience exchanging Microsoft
Project and database data with other systems. We
have worked on typical integration projects to
populate dashboards, perform analysis and status
assignments from timesheet systems, etc.
